Burton Hopitals NHS Trust - A £34 million development in 1990 saw the new Burton District Hospital combine all aspects of mediacal care for the people of the region under one roof. The single modern facility was opened officially by Her Majesty the Queen on December 7th 1995 and subsequently became the Queen's Hospital.

Midland Chilled Foods Ltd - One of the largest independant wholsalers of chilled, frozen and ambient (room temperature) foods in the country, Midland Chilled Foods together with its partner companies Midland Pie Products and Midland Food Group have more than 200 employees and supply more than 2,500 different products. In 2004 a large outlet in Basingstoke was developed.
